I’ve worked as a criminal defense lawyer, trying sixteen murder cases over the years, while also teaching political science at a local college. I’ve been active in Community Theater and have authored two plays, the first of which I directed and produced. I play guitar and sing in local clubs.
Joshua and the Late Police is set in a summer camp, inspired by my twelve summers as a camper and counselor at Camp Hayo-Went-Ha, in northern Michigan. I’ve hosted many international guests and students, which has been the catalyst for populating my story with international characters.
I majored in English Composition at DePauw University, where I studied under the writer John Jakes. I graduated from the Ohio Northern University College of Law and am a member of the Michigan Bar Association.
I live in St Joseph, Michigan, with my dachshund Abbey, walking distance from the beaches of Lake Michigan. I’m active in my local Rotary Club and enjoy cycling and kayaking when not writing.
